The opposition members, led by NC member Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo, raked up the issue of construction of power projects and failure of the government to rehabilitate the people affected by such projects.
Kitchloo and other members walked into the Well of the House, raising anti-government slogans as the chairman of Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali rejected their demand for a reply from the government about the plight of people who have been affected by the construction of power projects on river Chenab and other tributaries..

Kullu (Himachal): CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today started the rehabilitation of families affected by the disaster caused by heavy rains, landslides and floods during this rainy season from Kullu district and provided the benefits of special relief package to the affected people. By pressing a button from Rath Maidan in Kullu, the CM released a relief amount of Rs 9.72 crore through direct benefit transfer as the first installment of Rs 3 lakh each to 324 affected families in district Kullu for building houses. This compensation amount was provided to the owners of houses completely damaged during the disaster in the district for their rehabilitation.

Opposition National Conference (NC) today staged a walkout from the Assembly alleging that the state government had failed to provide electricity supply to the snow-bound areas of Kashmir.
As soon as the House assembled in the morning, NC MLA Ali Mohammad Sagar stood up and raised the issue which, he said, had 'exposed' the government's claims.
