This weekend owes its share to Amitabh Bachchan's highly anticipated movie – Piku! That's right – the same movie that has been doing rounds for some time now! So coming to the film's plot, Piku is an Indian comedy-drama film helmed by Shoojit Sircar. Dippy Baby portrays the titular protagonist, a Bengali architect living in New Delhi, and Amitabh Bachchan plays her ageing father. The film explores the dynamics of their relationship as they take a road trip to Kolkata. Moushumi Chatterjee, Jishu Sengupta and Irrfan Khan portray supporting roles. Quirky and funny with oodles of situational humor, the film highlights the eccentricities within every Indian family, told in signature Shoojit Sircar style. While this film about a crazy father-daughter duo is packaged with ingredients that make for a perfect family comedy, director Shoojit seems to be bringing back the slice-of-life-cinema which was made popular by filmmakers like Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
