Cybercrime has risen and there has been an 11x increase in ransomware assaults. We’re seeing a rise in assaults on high-profile targets — and the rise of new methodologies. Artificial intelligence and the rise of deepfake technology is something cybersecurity researchers have cautioned about for years and now it has officially arrived. Cybercriminals are increasingly sharing, developing and deploying deepfake technologies to bypass biometric security protections, and in crimes including blackmail, identity theft, social engineering-based attacks and more, experts warn. Right now, the researchers said, discussions among threat actors about deepfake products and technologies are largely concentrated in English- and Russian-language criminal forums, but related topics were also observed on Turkish-, Spanish- and Chinese-language forums. Much of the chatter in these underground forums is focused on how-to’s and best practices, according to Recorded Future, which appears to demonstrate a widespread effort across cybercrime to sharpen deepfake tools.
The technology uses artificial intelligence to superimpose and combine both real and AI-generated images, videos and audio to make them look almost indistinguishable from the real thing. The apparent authenticity of the results is rapidly reaching disturbing levels. The most common deepfake-related topics on dark web forums included services (editing videos and pictures), how-to methods and lessons, requests for best practices, sharing free software downloads and photo generators, general interests in deepfakes, and announcements on advancements in deepfake technologies. In the cybersecurity world, deepfakes are an increasing cause for concern because they use artificial intelligence to imitate human activities and can be used to augment social engineering attacks. शर्मनाक बात ये भी है की महिला विंग में लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों की निगरानी पुरुष कर्मचारियों द्वारा की जा रही थी . यानि मानसिक रूप से अक्षम महिलाओं के सभी गतिविधियों की तस्वीरें सीसीटीवी कैमरों में कैद होती हैं जिसका निरिक्षण पुरुषों के द्वारा किया जाता रहा है . ये सीधे सीधे मानवाधिकार का हनन तो है ही बल्कि इंसानियत को शर्मशार करने वाली घटना भी है .
न जाने कितनी और किस तरह की तस्वीरें इन कैमरों में कैद हुई होंगी जो एक महिला के निजता को आघात पहुंचाने वाले हो सकते हैं .
ये बात खुद महिला आयोग अध्यक्ष स्वाति मालीवाल के औचक निरिक्षण में सामने आई हैं . अब सवाल ये उठने लगे हैं की दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा संचालित , मानसिक रूप से अक्षम लोगों के होम में इतनी बड़ी लापरवाही कैसे चल रही थी ?

There are countries which are increasingly turning to #cyberattacks and data theft - and the rise of cloud services is helping them. Crowdstrike's 2022 Global Threat Report details how the cyber-threat landscape has evolved during the past year. The report says, it had confirmed the exploitation of two vulnerabilities published in 2020 by China-nexus advanced persistent threat (APT) actors – in Oracle WebLogic and Zoho ManageEngine, respectively – but that last year it was able to confirm 12 vulnerabilities and nine different products being exploited, linked to 10 known APTs, including the infamous Wicked Panda (aka APT41 or Barium). The analysts said that although Chinese APTs have long developed and deployed their own exploits in the targeted intrusions, 2021 saw an increased volume of activity from Chinese APTs, highlighting an evolution in how these groups go about their work. These countries are seeing that cyber campaigns can be easier to conduct than traditional espionage and are investing in these techniques. “In contrast, exploits deployed by these actors in 2021 focused heavily on vulnerabilities in internet-facing devices or services. Among the vulnerabilities favoured by Chinese APTs in 2021 were the Microsoft Exchange bugs collectively known as ProxyLogon and ProxyShell, and other networking products such as VPNs and routers. They are also increasingly looking to enterprise software products hosted on internet-facing servers.
The team of #CrowdStrike assessed that these exploits are largely being independently developed in-house or, in a new twist, acquired from legitimate sources in China.
