Assassinations of the Presidents of the United States of America are well-known to the world. There have been numerous attempts and the Presidents being killed ruthlessly. Whether out of jealously or enmity, stories on how leaders were targeted in open while they were enjoying their leisure hours are spine-chilling. Right from Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States to the 35th President, John F. Kennedy, each one of them have been a target of brutal assassination.

The attack on Andrew Jackson was the first ever to be recorded at the US President. The first attack was by Robert B. Randolph who bore grudges against him for his dismissal from the Navy for embezzlement and the second was by an unemployed painter who pulled a pistol on him twice before misfiring. Andrew had been extremely lucky in both the instances. Abraham Lincoln was another US President who wasn't as lucky and was shot dead while attending a play at the Ford's Theatre with the American Civil War coming to an end. His assassin was a popular stage actor, John Wilkes Booth who carried out the assassination as a part of a bigger conspiracy which involved revival of the Confederate cause..
