Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on 11 March 1978, the soccer master lived with his footballer uncle, Michel Goba, in France for three years. After his parents lost their jobs, the entire family decided to live with his uncle and later settled at Antony, Paris in 1993. Here, Drogba got the opportunity to play for a youth club followed by Levallois, a semi-professional club where he earned the reputation of a prolific scorer in the youth team. Drogba is also known by the nickname “Tito”, which was given by his mother after president Josip Broz Tito of Yugoslavia.
