Youth and students topped the list of neglected segments under the NDA regime. Quality of higher education and sports infrastructure suffered under the visionless leadership of BJP. We launched the National Youth Policy. Compared to BJP's tenure of total inaction, we established 9 new IITs and 7 new IIMs and launched the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan.

Our agenda for future includes: Rashtriya Uchhatar Shiksha Abhiyan, which will help create 70 new universities. Expansion of higher education opportunities with a focus on students from low-income families, providing state-of-the-art sporting facilities across India and establishing a National Sports Education University. We will bring special focus on youths from J&K, North East and LWE affected areas. A state-run employment exchange will be opened for those seeking employment abroad.
