Aam Aadmi Party strongly condemns the deliberate misinformation campaign by vested interests about the demolition ordered by the Delhi High Court in the Chandni Chowk area.
Despite the fact that the High Court had ordered the North Delhi Municipal Corporation to carry out these demolitions, the name of Delhi government was wrongly and unnecessarily dragged into this issue.
The matter was heard in the High Court on Friday, where the Delhi government firmly placed its stand that though it has no role in the matter, but the Piao (drinking water Kiosk) near the Gurdwara Sis Ganj, which was catering to water demands of large number of people should be retained there.
The Delhi government further stated that this Piao was there purely on a non-commercial basis and such social service should not be disturbed.
Unfortunately, the High Court did not accept this and reiterated its demolition order to continue.
Delhi government also informed the court that vested interests, particularly political opponents are trying to politicise the issue by spreading falsehoods about the demolition issue, which should be immediately checked.
Delhi government had not role in the demolition whatsoever.
