Wriddhiman Saha was dropped from the Indian Test squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Saha has now alleged that the team management had told him that he would not be considered for selection from here on.
Saha further added that he was told to start thinking about retiring from the game and said that he could not reveal this as long as he was a part of the side.
“The team management had told me that I would not be considered henceforth. I could not tell this so long as I was part of the India team setup. Even coach Rahul Dravid suggested that I think about taking retirement,” said Saha in a press conference as quoted by News18.
Wriddhiman Saha has taken to Twitter to post a screenshot of a conversation that a journalist had with him. In the conversation, the journalist is asking Saha to do an interview with him.
The journalist also tells Saha to choose the person who can help him the most. The journalist further stated in the message that Saha had not called him, and even states that this insult will not be taken kindly.
The journalist even warns Saha that he should not have behaved in this manner. The Indian cricketer stated that after his contributions to Indian cricket, he is getting such messages from the so called respected journalists.
“After all of my contributions to Indian cricket. This is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone,” tweeted Wriddhiman Saha.

Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha has decided not to reveal the name of the journalist, who sent him threatening and insulting messages. Last week, the 37-year-old, who has been dropped from the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, took to social media and shared a screenshot of an unnamed journalist, who wanted to interview him. As Saha didn’t respond, the journalist’s tone got harsher as he wrote, “you shouldn’t have done this.”
As Saha made the matter public, many members of the cricket fraternity come out in his support and urged him to name the journalist. Several reports even suggested that BCCI will investigate the matter. Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha has been at the center of multiple controversies lately. The 37-year-old was dropped from the Indian squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. He was evidently disappointed as his outburst came out in public. Saha made some sensational revelations regarding his conversations with head coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, which became a talking point in the cricket circle.
Saha had said that Dravid indirectly suggested him to take retirement, saying the team is not looking at him for future assignments. On the other hand, he also said Ganguly had assured him a place in the side in November last year. As per the latest developments, these statements can put Saha in trouble as he has violated the protocols, which should be followed by a centrally-contracted cricketer.

After Modi, Amit Shah goes acidic against Naveen
A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s no-holds-barred attack on the Naveen Patnaik Government for rejecting the Centre’s flagship Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme, BJP president Amit Shah cautioned the Odisha Government that his party will launch a massive campaign against the anti-poor decision of the State.
Coming down heavily on the Chief Minister for depriving Odisha people of the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), one of the biggest heath care programmes in the world, Shah in a series of tweets said the politically motivated decision of Patnaik is reprehensible.“The benefit of the Central health care programme is not reaching the poor people of Odisha due to meanness of the BJD. The Chief Minister is depriving them the benefit either due to cheap political gain or his antipathy towards the BJP,” Shah said in a tweet.
Cautioning Naveen that his Government will pay a heavy price for this anti-poor attitude, the BJP president said his party will launch a door-to-door awareness campaign on the issue.Meanwhile, Shah’s visit to attend the national executive committee meeting of the BJP Mahila Morcha at Puri has worked up the party workers who are confused if the battle cry of top leadership is for public consumption or for real.
