Aam Aadmi Party demands the immediate arrest and removal of BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar from the post of vice-chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

The latest shameful incident of Tanwar having illegally confined the Director (Projects and Enforcement) NDMC, Mr Neeraj Bharti in his office and having threatened him by instigating his supporters to beat him up, against which this officer has already filed a police complaint, only adds further to his list of shameful behaviour.

Tanwar is a serial offender and the Delhi Police and union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) should not shield such an individual against a whom number of serious complaints are already pending.

Last year a lady doctor, working as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with the NDMC had lodged a complaint against the misbehaviour of Tanwar. The complaint was sent to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and the MHA as well.

It is shocking that complaints of such serious nature were ignored by the MHA while appointing him as NDMC vice-chairman again in July this year.

This is the second incident within 10 days assault and misbehaviour by BJP leaders on senior bureaucrats, who refuse to carry out their illegal orders.

On 24 September, a mob led by close aides of BJP Lok Sabha MP Udit Raj forcibly entered the office of District Magistrate (North-West) and assaulted him in full public view.

These two incidents raise a serious question on the impartiality and functional credibility of Delhi Police. People of Delhi are still waiting for the Delhi Police chief to appear before cameras and tell when would Udit Raj Be questioned and when will Tanwar be arrested ?.
