The Delhi High Court Tuesday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Ratul Puri, nephew of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, in a money-laundering case related to the AgustaWestland chopper scam, saying his custodial interrogation was 'required for an effective investigation'. Justice Sunil Gaur said that Puri was evasive in his replies during questioning by the probe agency, ED, and it was evident from witness statements provided to the court that he was trying to influence them.

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused pre-arrest bail to P Chidambaram in the INX Media money laundering case lodged by the Enforcement Directorate. The top court dismissed Chidambaram's plea challenging the Delhi High Court verdict denying him anticipatory bail in the case. A bench of Justices R Banumathi and A S Bopanna said this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail. Grant of anticipatory bail to Chidambaram at this stage will hamper investigation, it said.

ശബരിമല വിഷയത്തിൽ ഫേസ്ബുക്കിൽ മതവികാരം വ്രണപ്പെടുത്തും വിധമുള്ള ഫോട്ടോ പോസ്റ്റു ചെയ്തെന്ന കേസിൽ രഹന ഫാത്തിമയുടെ മുൻകൂർ ജാമ്യാപേക്ഷ ഹൈക്കോടതി തള്ളി. പൊലീസിന് തുടർ നടപടികളുമായി മുന്നോട്ട് പോകാമെന്നാണ് കോടതി നൽകിയ നിർദേശം. അതേ സമയം തെറ്റു ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് ബോധ്യമുണ്ടെന്നും ജാമ്യാപേക്ഷയുമായി സുപ്രീം കോടതിയെ സമീപിക്കുമെന്നും രഹന ഫാത്തിമ പറഞ്ഞു. സമൂഹ മാധ്യമങ്ങളിൽ രഹന അയ്യപ്പ വേഷത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഫോട്ടോ പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത് മതവികാരം വ്രണപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതാണെന്ന് കാണിച്ച് തൃക്കൊടിത്താനം സ്വദേശി ആർ. രാധാകൃഷ്ണ മേനോൻ പത്തനംതിട്ട പൊലീസിന് നൽകിയ പരാതിയെ തുടർന്നാണ് കേസെടുത്തിട്ടുള്ളത്. തുലാമാസ പൂജയ്ക്കായി നട തുറന്നപ്പോൾ രഹന ശബരിമല സന്ദർശിക്കാനെത്തിയത് വൻ വിവാദമായിരുന്നു.ഭക്തരുടെ കടുത്ത പ്രതിഷേധത്തെ തുടർന്ന് രഹനയ്ക്ക് ശബരിമലയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാനായില്ല. ഇവർ ശബരിമല സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന വിവരം സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയയിൽ പ്രചരിച്ചതോടെ ഇവർ താമസിക്കുന്ന പനംപള്ളി നഗർ ഫ്ലാറ്റിനു നേരെ ആക്രമണം ഉണ്ടാകുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് പൊലീസ് സംരക്ഷണയിലായിരുന്നു ഇവർ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നത്.
