और अब बात पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री डा.मनमोहन सिंह की। उनकी सादगी और ईमानदारी से पूरी दुनिया वाकिफ है। उनकी खामोशी के चर्चे भी खूब हुए। लेकिन अब उनके एक सवाल के खूब चर्चे हो रहे हैं। दरअसल डा.मनमोहन सिंह फिर से पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी में अर्थशास्त्र पढ़ाते नजर आएंगे। इसी विश्वविद्यालय से उन्होंने 1954 में एमए किया, 1957 में बतौर अध्यापक नियुक्त हुए और 1963 में यहीं प्रोफेसर बने। रिजर्व बैंक के गर्वनर, वित्त मंत्री और 10 सालों तक देश के प्रधानमंत्री का पद संभालने के बाद अब वे फिर विद्यार्थियों से मुखातिब हैं। लेकिन इससे पहले उन्होंने संसद से जानना चाहा कि इस कार्य के लिए उन्हें जो दैनिक भत्ता मिलेगा, कहीं वो लाभ के पद के दायरे में तो नहीं आएगा, क्योंकि वे अभी राज्यसभा सांसद भी हैं। पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री की यह ईमानदारी और सादगी वाकई देखकर बरबस कहना पड़ता है...

शहीद अशफाक उल्ला खां ने जब ये पंक्तियां लिखीं होंगी, तो शायद उन्हें भी अहसास नहीं रहा होगा कि देश की आजादी के 70 साल बाद भी वतन पर जान न्यौछावर करने वालों के लिए हालात ऐसे ही होंगे। पिछले रविवार जम्मू-कश्मीर के उरी में सैन्य अड्डे पर आतंकी हमले में हमारे 18 जवान क्रूरता से कत्ल कर दिए गए। दुश्मनों ने अल-सुबह हमला किया, ताकि संभलने का मौका ही न मिले। हालांकि सैनिकों ने तुरंत मोर्चा संभालते हुए चारों हमलावरों को मार गिराया, लेकिन अपने जवान भी खोए। सेना के कैम्प पर हमले की यह दूसरी बड़ी घटना देश में घटी है और बीते महीनों में लगातार कश्मीर में सुरक्षाबलों को निशाना बनाया जा रहा है। सरकारें खूब गरज रही हैं, लेकिन उनकी दिलेरी केवल बैठकों में नजर आ रही है, या अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंचों से पाकिस्तान को कोसने में। पाकिस्तान की शराफत बेशक संदिग्ध रही है, लेकिन वर्तमान सरकार का व्यवहार भी संभलकर चलने वाला कहां रहा। इस मामले में अहमद फराज का एक शेर याद आता है....
