രാജ്യപുരോഗതിക്ക് തടസ്സം നില്‍ക്കുന്ന സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി നീതി ആയോഗ് സിഇഒ അമിതാഭ് കാന്ത്. ബിഹാര്‍, ഉത്തര്‍പ്രദേശ്, ഛത്തീസ്ഗഡ്, മധ്യപ്രദേശ്, രാജസ്ഥാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളാണ് പുരോഗതിയില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയെ പിന്നോട്ടടിക്കുന്നതെന്നായിരുന്നു അമിതാഭിന്‍രെ പ്രതികരണം. സാമൂഹിക സൂചകങ്ങളില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പിന്നാക്കാവസ്ഥക്ക് കാരണം ഈ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. വാണിജ്യ, വ്യാപാര മേഖലയില്‍ പുരോഗതി കൈവരിക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും മാനവ വികസന സൂചികയില്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും പിന്നിലാണ്. 188 രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ അടങ്ങിയ മാനവ വികസന സൂചികയില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സ്ഥാനം 131 ആണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഇക്കാര്യത്തിലും വ്യാപാര, വാണിജ്യ മേഖലയിലും ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യയും പടിഞ്ഞാറന്‍ ഇന്ത്യയും വളരെ വേഗം പുരോഗതി കൈവരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.
