Google's keyboard onslaught continues for the third consecutive day with a game of London 2012 slalom canoe as its 14th daily doodle during the ongoing Olympic Games.
Curiously, this is the first doodle this Olympics by Google that has been posted after the featured event was over. Also playing the game can leave users with a pain in their hands.
This interactive doodle features a paddler in a yellow canoe trying to paddle his/her down a water course with 10 downstream gates marked with green striped poles.
To play the London 2012 slalom canoe users have to use the left and right arrow keys to accelerate (paddle faster) the speed of their canoes and the up and down keys to navigate.
The speed slows down, and time is added to the score when the canoe hits the banks, water animals or sedimentary rocks. Guiding the canoe through the green striped gates seem to get the canoe to move faster.
The faster a user reaches the finish line, the better the chances of Google bestowing the user with an additional star (the maximum is three) that can then be flaunted on Google's social networking service Google Plus.
Slalom canoeing involves athletes negotiating a 250 metre white water course that flows at a rate of 13 cubic metres per second, and drops 5.5 metres from start to finish.
Canoe Slalom made its debut at the Munich 1972 Olympic Games, but didn't become a permane.

London 2012 slalom canoe is the fourteenth London Olympics doodle, carrying on the tradition of a Google doodle every day of the Olympics.
The sport of canoe slalom, or whitewater slalom as it was called before November 2008, is a sport where the aim is to navigate your canoe through a series of hanging gates on a river rapid as soon as possible.
The doodle itself is in the form of a game true to the basics of the sport - your aim is to make the slalom athlete navigate the rapid as fast as possible. Use the left-right arrow keys to power up and navigate your canoe. Try aiming for a time around the 20 second mark to be champion of your office!
Last Friday, the Google doodle had celebrated the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. The doodle 5 athletes playing different Olympic sports. On Saturday, the Google doodle had celebrated the sport of archery, with a female archer getting ready to aim for bull's eye.
Last Sunday's Google doodle celebrated the Olympic sport of diving. Monday and Tuesday were about fencing and gymnastics men's rings respectively. Wednesday it was the turn of field hockey, the first time the sport found its way into a Google doodle. The sport of table tennis or ping pong was depicted on Thursday.

Google has yet introduced another interactive doodle today, but a different one, as it takes you to the water course with a Slalom Canoe game. The London 2012 Slalom Canoe is the 14th and the third interactive Google’s doodle after Hurdles and Basketball in the ongoing Olympics.
playable doodle features a paddler with a yellow-coloured canoe which allows you paddle a canoe down a water course on your computers that has 10 downstream gates, marked with green striped poles.
To adjust the speed of their canoes, users can use left and right arrow keys. The game goes like this- the speed of the canoe slows down on hitting the banks, water animals and sedimentary rocks, and you will score more if you paddle faster.
Earlier, Google had celebrated London 2012 Olympics events like Pole Vault, Shot Put, Table Tennis, Hockey, Artistic Gymnastics men's Rings, Fencing, Diving, Archery, Synchronised Swimming and Javelin with a different doodle theme for every sport.
The opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics on July 27 was celebrated with doodle depicting five athletes playing different Olympics sports.

In the virtual Olympics that is also parallely underway on Google's home page, Friday's scheduled event is football.
After a wrist-wrecking paddling in slalom canoe on Thursday, Google now wants to test your goalkeeping skills in with its interactive London 2012 football doodle.
Football is the fourth sport in Google's armchair Olympics. After 11 static doodles, Google debuted an interactive hurdles doodle on Tuesday, followed by basketball, then slalom canoe and now followed by football.
The controls to be used in the London 2012 football Google doodle are quite similar to the previous three playable doodles. You can either use the keyboard, the mouse or even a combination of both.
You can use the left and right arrow keys to move the goalkeeper in the corresponding directions and press the spacebar key to make him jump to save goals. Alternately you can make use of the mouse to move the goalkeeper and press the left or right mouse button to make the goalkeeper jump.
You could also use the keyboard to perform one action and the mouse for another. For example use the mouse for movement and the spacebar for jumps.
The object of the London 2012 football Google doodle is to prevent your opponent striker from scoring goals against you. There is no time limit and the gane gets over when three goals are conceded. Points are collected on the basis of the number of goals saved - one each for each save.

Except for 1896 and 1932, Olympics have always featured men's football tournament at the every-four-years extravaganza. Women's football was introduced in 1996.
Although football did feature in the 1900 Paris and 1904 St. Louis Olympics, there were no medals awarded back then and only demonstration matches were held.
It were the 1908 London Olympics when officially the game made an entry into the Games. Great Britain won the Gold, Denmark the Silver and Netherlands the Bronze.
Argentina men, who won the Gold in 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Games, did not qualify for the London Olympics 2012. Actually neither did the Argentine women.
Brazil men's football team are looking for their first Olympic Gold and face Mexico in the final on Saturday.
Brazilian women, two time Olympic runner-ups in 2004 and 2008, on the other hand were knocked out in the quarter-final by eventual finalists Japan.
