The market has opened on a negative note with the benchmark BSE Sensex falling 67 points on Monday early trade today as investors booked profits in recent gainers amid mixed Asian cues. The 30-share barometer declined 66.73 points or 0.24 per cent to 27,736.51 with sectoral indices led by bank, metal and teck, trading in the negative zone. Rupee has been trading lower by 13 paise at 67.21 against the dollar on Monday early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market as the American currency strengthened overseas. Forex dealers said fresh demand for the US currency from importers and a lower opening in the domestic equity market put pressure on the rupee. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 66.73 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 27,736,51 in opening trade.
