नोटबंदी के बाद से ही रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया यानी RBI काफी चर्चा में है। वहीं अब आरबीआई के कर्माचारियों ने नोटबंदी के बाद हो रहे घटनाक्रमों को लेकर गवर्नर उर्जित पटेल को पत्र लिख कर अपना विरोध दर्ज कराया है। कर्मचारियों ने पत्र में नोटबंदी की प्रक्रिया के संचालन में कुप्रबंधन और सरकार की ओर से करेंसी जमा करने के लिए एक अधिकारी की नियुक्ति कर, केंद्रीय बैंक की स्वायत्तता को चोट पहुंचाने का विरोध किया है। पत्र में कहा गया है कि इस कुप्रबंधन से आरबीआई की छवि और स्वायत्तता को काफी नुकसान पहुंचा है..उर्जित पटेल को लिखे गए इस पत्र में में यूनाइटेड फोरम ऑफ रिजर्व बैंक ऑफिसर्स एंड इम्पलाइज की ओर से कहा गया है कि रिजर्व बैंक की दक्षता और स्वतंत्रता वाली छवि उसके कर्मचारियों के दशकों की मेहनत से बनी थी, लेकिन इसे एक झटके में ही खत्म कर दिया गया यह काफी दुख का विषय है...आपको बता दें कि आरबीआई से पहले आल इंडिया बैंक ऑफिसर्स कॉन्फ़ेडरेशन ने भी नोटबंदी के फैसले को तंग और तबाह करने वाला फैसला करार दिया था...और साथ ही उर्जित पटेल के इस्तीफे की मांग भी की थी।

एक तरफ देश में नोटबंदी के फैसले के खिलाफ विपक्ष ने सरकार के खिलाफ मोर्चा खोला हुआ है तो दूसरी तरफ अब इंडियन बैंक एसोसिएशन ने रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के गवर्नर उर्जित पटेल के इस्तीफे की मांग की है. बैंक कर्मचारियों को लगता है कि पटेल नोटबंदी के बाद से हो रही समस्याओं को हल करने में सफल नहीं हुए हैं. ऑल इंडिया बैंक इम्प्लॉय एसोसिएशन के वाइस प्रेसिडेंट विश्वास उत्तगी का कहना है कि पीएम मोदी ने जो फैसला किया है उसे सही तरीके से निभाने की जिम्मेदारी बैंकों की है, लेकिन बैंकों में भी पर्याप्त मात्रा में कैश नहीं पहुंच पा रहा है, जिस वजह से बैंक कर्मचारियों के साथ-साथ लोगों को भी काफी दिक्कत हो रही है... उत्तगी का कहना है कि नोटबंदी के फैसले के बाद से ही बैंक कर्मी काफी तनाव में काम कर रहे हैं... बैंक एसोसिएशन से पहले आल इंडिया बैंक ऑफिसर्स कॉन्फ़ेडरेशन ने भी उर्जित पटेल के फैसले को तंग और तबाह करने वाला बताया था...और साथ ही नैतिक आधार पर उनके इस्तीफे की मांग की थी।
