अमेरिका में ग्रीन कार्ड पाने वाले विदेशी मूल के लोगों को झटका लग सकता है। ट्रंप प्रशासन ने अमेरिकी सीनेट में ग्रीन कार्ड से जुड़ा संशोधन बिल पेश किया है जिसके पारित हो जाने पर अमेरिका में बसने का खवाब देखने वाले लोगों की तादाद आधी हो जाएगी।
दरअसल रिपब्लिकन सीनेट टोम कॉटन और डेमोक्रेटिक सीनेटर डेविड पेर्डू ने ग्रीन कार्ड से जुड़े विधेयक को पेश किया, जिसमें हर साल अमेरिका आने वाले अप्रवासियों की संख्या 10 लाख से घटाकर पांच लाख करने का प्रस्ताव रखा गया है। इन सीनेटरों ने हर साल जारी किए जाने वाले 10 लाख ग्रीन कार्ड की संख्या आधी करने की मांग की है। अगर यह प्रस्ताव पास हो जाता है तो अमेरिका में अमेरिका में हर साल विदेशी मूल के नागरिकों की हो रही एंट्री की संख्या आधी हो जाएगी।
