രാജ്യത്തെ ഏതു പൗരന്റെയും കംപ്യൂട്ടറും പരിശോധിക്കാൻ പത്ത് ഏജൻസികൾക്ക് കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ അനുമതി.
പൗരന്റെയും കംപ്യൂട്ടറും സ്മാർട്ട് ഫോണും അവയുടെ ഉള്ളടക്കവും പരിശോധിക്കാൻ പത്ത് അന്വേഷണ ഏജൻസികൾക്ക് സമ്പൂർണാധികാരം നൽകി കേന്ദ്ര ആഭ്യന്തരമന്ത്രാലയം വിജ്ഞാപനം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു.
നീക്കംചെയ്ത വിവരങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തി വീണ്ടെടുക്കാൻ ആവശ്യമെങ്കിൽ കംപ്യൂട്ടർ പിടിച്ചെടുക്കാനും അന്വേഷണ ഏജൻസികൾക്ക് അധികാരമുണ്ടാകും.
പൗരന്റെ സ്വകാര്യത ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിച്ച സുപ്രീംകോടതിവിധി വന്ന് അധികകാലം കഴിയുംമുമ്പാണ് സർക്കാരിന്റെ നീക്കം. വിജ്ഞാപനത്തിനെതിരേ പ്രതിപക്ഷം ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായി രംഗത്തെത്തി. രാജ്യത്ത് ‘പോലീസ് രാജ്’ കൊണ്ടുവരാനാണ് സർക്കാരിന്റെ ശ്രമമെന്ന് അവർ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി.
ഇതുവരെ ആഭ്യന്തരമന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ അനുമതിയോടെ അന്വേഷണ ഏജൻസികൾക്ക് വ്യക്തികളുടെ ഫോൺ ചോർത്താനും ഇ-മെയിൽ പരിശോധിക്കാനും അധികാരമുണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ.
അതും കൈമാറ്റം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന വിവരങ്ങൾ മാത്രം. എന്നാൽ, പുതിയ വിജ്ഞാപനപ്രകാരം ഏതൊരു കംപ്യൂട്ടറിലും തയ്യാറാക്കുകയും ശേഖരിക്കുകയും കൈമാറ്റം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്ത വിവരങ്ങൾ പരിശോധിക്കാനും രഹസ്യകോഡിൽ ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള (എൻക്രിപ്റ്റഡ്) വിവരങ്ങളടക്കം പിടിച്ചെടുക്കാനുമുള്ള അധികാരം ഏജൻസികൾക്കുണ്ടാവും. ഒരാളുടെ ലാപ്ടോപിലോ ഐപാഡിലോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സ്മാർട്ട് ഫോണിലോ സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വിവരങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷണ ഏജൻസികൾക്ക് ആവശ്യമെങ്കിൽ പ്രാപ്യമാകും. ഇത് വാട്‌സാപ്പ് ചാറ്റും കോളുമടക്കമുള്ളവയുടെ പരിശോധനയ്ക്കും ഇടയാക്കുമെന്ന ആശങ്കയുമുണ്ട്.
എന്നാൽ, ഓരോ വ്യക്തിയുടെ കാര്യത്തിലും അന്വേഷണ ഏജൻസികൾ മുൻകൂട്ടി ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെ അനുമതി വാങ്ങേണ്ടതുണ്ടെന്നാണ് മന്ത്രാലയം ഇപ്പോൾ വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നത്.
അന്വേഷണ ഏജൻസികളുടെ പരിശോധനയുമായി സഹകരിക്കാനോ സാങ്കേതിക സഹായം നൽകാനോ വിസ്സമ്മതിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തികൾക്കും സേവനദാതാക്കൾക്കും ഏഴുവർഷം തടവും പിഴയും വിജ്ഞാപനത്തിൽ വ്യവസ്ഥ ചെയ്യുന്നു. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പരമാധികാരത്തിനും അഖണ്ഡതയ്ക്കും സു
