കർഷകർ കരാറിന് തയ്യാറായാൽ, ഉരുളക്കിഴങ്ങിന്റെ പൈതൃകാവകാശം ലംഘിച്ചതിനു നൽകിയ നഷ്ടപരിഹാരക്കേസ് പിൻവലിക്കാമെന്ന് ഭക്ഷ്യബ്രാൻഡായ ‘ലെയ്‌സി’ന്റെ ഉടമകളായ പെപ്‌സി കമ്പനി കോടതിയെ അറിയിച്ചു. മറുപടി അറിയിക്കാൻ ജൂൺ 12 വരെ സമയം അനുവദിച്ച കോടതി കൃഷിക്കുള്ള ‘സ്റ്റേ’ അതുവരെ നീട്ടി.കമ്പനിക്ക് കുത്തകാവകാശമുള്ള ‘എഫ്.സി.-5’ ഇനം ഉരുളക്കിഴങ്ങ് കൃഷിചെയ്ത ഉത്തര ഗുജറാത്തിലെ നാലു കൃഷിക്കാരിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു കോടി രൂപവീതം നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം ചോദിച്ചാണ് പെപ്‌സി കോടതിയിലെത്തിയത്. ഈയിനം കിഴങ്ങ് തങ്ങൾക്കുമാത്രം വ്യവസ്ഥകൾക്കു വിധേയമായി വിൽക്കാൻ തയ്യാറായാൽ കേസ് പിൻവലിക്കാമെന്നാണ് വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച അഹമ്മദാബാദ് സിറ്റി സിവിൽ കോടതിയിൽ കമ്പനി അറിയിച്ചത്. 1200-ഓളം കർഷകരുമായി ഇങ്ങനെ ഇപ്പോൾ കരാറുണ്ടെന്നും അവരുടെ താത്പര്യങ്ങൾകൂടി സംരക്ഷിക്കാനാണ് നിയമമാർഗം തേടിയതെന്നും കമ്പനിയുടെ അഭിഭാഷകൻ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.നേരത്തേ കോടതി നിയോഗിച്ച കമ്മിഷനും ജൂൺ 12 വരെ സമയം നീട്ടിനൽകി.സർക്കാർ ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ മൗനം വെടിയണമെന്ന് വിവിധ കർഷകസംഘടനകൾ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. ബ്രാൻഡഡ് ആയല്ലാതെ ഇത്തരം വിളകൾ കൃഷിചെയ്യാനും വിൽക്കാനും നിയമം കർഷകരെ അനുവദിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് ഇവർ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. നാല് ഏക്കറിൽ കൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്നയാളോട് ഒരു കോടി രൂപ നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം കുത്തകക്കമ്പനി ചോദിക്കുന്നതുതന്നെ പരിഹാസ്യമാണെന്ന് ഗുജറാത്ത് ഖേദുത് സമാജ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ജയേഷ് പട്ടേൽ പറഞ്ഞു. “കമ്പനി കൃഷിക്കാരുമായി കരാറുണ്ടാക്കിയെന്നതു ശരിയാണ്. പക്ഷേ വലുപ്പം കുറഞ്ഞ കിഴങ്ങ് അവർ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നില്ല. കർഷകർ ഇവ വിത്തായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിനു നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം ചോദിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഈ നിയന്ത്രണം ശരിയല്ല”-അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
