According to the station, Medina went to police Thursday morning to tell authorities that he had a domestic dispute with his wife and then shot her. Police later found the woman's body in a townhouse in South Miami. There was a 10-year-old girl at the home, authorities say, but she was not hurt.
The picture Medina allegedly posted online shows a woman, identified in the post as Jennifer Alfonso, bent over backwards at the knees with her head in the corner of what appears to be a kitchen, the station says.
The woman's left arm is covered in blood and her face also reportedly appears to have blood on it.
According to marriage records obtained by the station, Medina and Alfonso had been married since April 2012.

According to WSVN.com, South Miami Police has confirmed that Derek Medina admitted to shooting and killing his wife Jennifer Alfonso at their home on Thursday morning before he surrendered to the police. Police also confirmed Medina's Facebook page featured images of Alfonso's dead body and messages confessing to the shooting. The image is said to be an accurate photo of the victim based on what she was wearing and how she was found at the scene.
It was reported that a dispute broke out between the Medina and Alfonso which has led to the fatal shooting. Medina allegedly went to his father's home and admitted to shooting his wife before turning himself in to the police.
Police found a young girl around 10 years old inside the house when they arrived. The girl is reportedly the daughter of Alfonso, who was in the house at the time of the shooting but was unharmed.

A grisly murder scene in South Miami has ended up on Facebook after the alleged killer posted a picture to the social networking site.
Derek Medina, 31, of South Miami posted a picture of his dead wife around three hours ago on a Facebook page attributed to him. Police found the woman's body in the townhouse at 5555 SW 67 Avenue.
There was a 10-year-old girl at the home, authorities say, but she was not hurt.
CBS4 has confirmed the identity of Medina with South Miami Police Sgt. Rene Landa.
The picture, which CBS4 and CBSMiami.com have chosen not to show, shows a woman identified in the post as Jennifer Alfonso, bent over backwards at the knees with her head in the corner of what appears to be a kitchen.
The woman's left arm is covered in blood and blood appears on her face as well.
Alonso was married to Medina.
The Facebook page also had an alleged confession from Medina on the site that read as follows:

A South Miami man who murdered his wife posted a photo of her body and a confession on Facebook. Derek Medina fatally shot his wife, Jennifer Alfonso, in their townhouse Thursday morning. He then posted a picture of her body, which was bent backwards with the head facing a corner. There was blood on her arms and face. He captioned the photo, “Rip Jennifer Alfonso.” The 31-year-old wrote that he was going to prison or getting the death penalty for killing his wife. After posting his confession online, Medina turned himself in at a police station. The posts remained on Facebook until just before 5 pm. A spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department confirmed that detectives found Jennifer Alfonso dead in her home. The couple had been married since April 2012. A 10-year-old girl was also found at the scene, but was unharmed. Medina listed his occupation as “Actor” at Burn Notice, but he appears to have only appeared as featured extra in a 2009 episode. Other photos on his Facebook page show him posing in a combat vest holding a knife and gun.
