अफज़लगढ़ ब्लाॅक क्षेत्र में स्थित बनैली नदी पर 20 बरस बीत जाने के बाद भी पुल नही बना है। जिसके चलते बरसात के मौसम में नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ने के कारण कई गांवों का जनसम्पर्क बढ़ जाता है और ग्रामीणों तथा स्कूल जाने वाले छात्र-छात्राओं को काफी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ता है।
बरसात के मौसम में पहाड़ों पर बारिश होने के बाद हर वर्ष गांव शाहपुर जमाल में बनैली नदी का जलस्तर हर वर्ष बढ़ जाता है जिसके कारण कई गांवों का सम्पर्क कट जाता है। जिस दिन नदी में पानी ज्यादा बढ़ता है उस दिन बच्चे भी स्कूल जाने से वंचित रह जाते हैं। कभी स्कूल से वापस लौटते समय नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ जाता है तो बच्चांे को खतरा मोल लेकर नदी पार करनी पड़ती है या फिर कई किलोमीटर लंबा रास्ता तय कर पैदल घर जाना पड़ता है।
जानकारी के अनुसार करीब 20 वर्ष पहले इस नदी पर पूर्व सांसद शीश राम सिंह रवि ने रपटा बनवाया था जो कुछ दिनों बाद ही पानी के बहाव में धाराशायी हो गया था। उसके बाद आज तक किसी जन प्रतिनिधि अथवा अधिकारी ने इसकी सुध नही ली है। शासन प्रशासन की उदासीनता के चलते ग्रामीण इसी प्रकार बद से बदतर जीवन काटने को मजबूर हैं। ग्रामीणों ने उच्चाधिकारियों से नदी पर पुल का निर्माण कराने की मांग की है।
