Tensions rise in MPT after an unmanned tanker ship MT loaded with around 3000 MT Naptha anchored in MPT inner anchorage has started drifitng due to bad weather. MPT sources have confirmed that the tanker could land in Dona Paula. Fears of leakage of Naptha cargo are erupting. MPT is trying to reach the the ship but huge waves are hindering them, coast guard have been approached for help. The ship had arrived in the port around a three months ago for shelter and repairs and transfer of cargo but was caught up in legalities. The vessel had met with a fire accident in Cochin.
