Coming down heavily on encroachments on water bodies, the Madras High Court Tuesday sought a detailed report about number of lakes and reservoirs in the State besides steps taken for desilting. After Madras High Court rapped Tamil Nadu Government for water mismanagement, Govt responded by calling it a manufactured crisis. With the water level in reservoirs across Tamil Nadu declining rapidly, Chief Minister K. Palaniswami here on Tuesday assured that necessary steps were being taken to ensure drinking water supply to people.
