वहीं वॉशिंगटन के किसी वरिष्ठतम अधिकारी ने पहली बार जापान के इस दुखद घटना के कार्यक्रम में शिरकत की है। साथ ही PM मोदी ने ट्वीट कर हिरोशिमा हमले में जान गंवाने वालों को श्रद्धांजलि दी है। नैनीताल में आज स्कूली बच्चों ने दुनिया के तमाम देशों से परमाणु हथियारों से दूर रहने की अपील की और नो मोर हिरोशिमा के साथ शांति मार्च निकाला। आपको बता दें की आज ही के दिन यानी 6 अगस्त, 1945 को द्वितीय विश्वयुद्ध के दौरान अमेरिका ने जापान के हिरोशिमा में पहला परमाणु बम 'लिटल बॉय' गिराया था, जिसके तीन दिन बाद ही जापान के नागाशाकी पर 'फैट मैन' नाम का बम गिराया गया। इस परमाणु हमले में करीब 2 लाख लोग मारे गए। बम का असर इतना घातक था कि हिरोशिमा शहर और आसपास के लोगों को सालों तक कई भयंकर बीमारियों से जूझते रहें। दूसरे विश्वयुद्ध में जापान ने बहुत कुछ खोया और आखिरकार 15 अगस्त 1945 को जापान ने आत्मसमर्पण कर युद्ध को खत्म किया।
