Gangula Kamalakar is a politician from Telangana state and a legislator from Karimnagar Assembly constituency. [ He has been a member of the Karimnagar Constituency Legislative Assembly since 2009 , 2014 , 2018 ..He is the Minister of Civil Supplies and BC Welfare in the Government of Telangana..

Gangula Kamalakar entered active politics in 2000. Won as Councilor in Karimnagar Municipality. He contested from Karimnagar seat in the Assembly elections in 2009 as a TDP candidate and won. He resigned from the TDP during the Telangana movement and joined the TRS in 2013. In the 2014 Telangana general elections, he contested on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party ticket and won over the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar by a majority of over 24,000 votes. As part of the Telangana by-elections in 2018, he contested on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party ticket and won over Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Bandi Sanjay Kumar with a majority of over 14,000 votes . Chief Minister on September 8, 2019 KCR was sworn in as a minister in the second cabinet . He was assigned to the BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Departments.
