എട്ടു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പാണ് യുവതിയെ അനില്‍ പാട്ടീല്‍ എന്നയാള്‍ കയ്യില്‍ കരുതിയിരുന്ന ആസിഡ് ഒഴിച്ച് കൊലപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചത്. 2010ല്‍ നടന്ന സംഭവത്തിന് 2013 ലാണ് കോടതി ഇയാളെ ജീവപര്യന്തം ശിക്ഷയ്ക്ക് വിധിച്ചത്. ഇതാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ എട്ട് വര്‍ഷത്തെ തടവ് ശിക്ഷയായി കുറച്ച് നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. പെണ്‍കുട്ടിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിയ്ക്കാമെന്നും യുവതിയുടെ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് സര്‍ജറിക്കായി തന്റെ ത്വക്ക് ദാനം ചെയ്യാമെന്നും ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയുടെ ചെലവ് പൂര്‍ണമായും വഹിക്കാമെന്നും പ്രതി പറഞ്ഞു. യുവതിയുമായി സംസാരിച്ച പ്രതി ഇരുവരും വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ച കാര്യം കോടതിയെ അറിയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു..
വിവാഹശേഷം പെണ്‍കുട്ടിയുമായി സ്വസ്ഥജീവിതത്തിനുള്ള അവസരമൊരുക്കണമെന്നും താന്‍ ചെയ്ത തെറ്റ് തിരുത്തിയെന്നും പ്രതി കോടതിയില്‍ ഹര്‍ജി സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ ഇയാളെ കോടതി കേസില്‍നിന്ന് മോചിപ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. എട്ടു വര്‍ഷമായി ഇയാള്‍ ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കുകയാണെന്ന നിരീക്ഷണത്തോടെ കോടതി പ്രതിയെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

Two people have been charged over topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge, it is being reported.
Sources told the AFP news agency the accused are the head of the Mondadori Group - the publisher of glossy magazine Closer where some of the shots were printed - and a photographer at regional daily La Provence.
The photos of Prince William's wife Catherine caused a furore when they were published last September, and sparked a criminal probe into how they were obtained.

Judges in the Paris suburb of Nanterre charged the photographer with 'invasion of privacy' for taking images of the former Kate Middleton in a swimsuit while she was on holiday in the south of France with her husband.
Those shots were published in La Provence, but the most intimate pictures showing the Duchess of Cambridge topless and having sun cream applied by William were published in Closer.
Judges are still investigating who took those photos.
Ernesto Mauri, the chief executive of Mondadori, was also charged with 'invasion of privacy' for allowing the topless shots to be published.
French authorities promptly banned Closer from any further publication or resale of the topless images after they first emerged.

The intrusive topless photos of Kate Middleton could lead to charges being handed out to two people in France, a publisher and a photographer, thought to be involved in the scandal.
The two people have now been put under official investigation and are likely to be charged with 'invasion of privacy' for the Kate Middleton photo scandal that hit last September.
The topless photos, originally published in 'Closer' magazine, were taken while Prince William and Kate were staying at the Chateau d'Autet in Provence, France – a private rural villa.
The first person charged is Ernesto Mauri, the CEO of Mondadori, the company responsible for publishing Closer in France.
The photos outraged the British Royal Family, and especially Prince William, who remembers his mother, Princess Diana, being hounded and chased by the paparazzi in France when her car crashed resulting in her death.
The British Royal Family sued Closer in the aftermath of the Kate photos, and the magazine was ordered to hand over all intrusive photos of Middleton.
'These snapshots which showed the intimacy of a couple, partially naked on the terrace of a private home, surrounded by a park several hundred meters from a public road, and being able to legitimately assume that they are protected from passers-by, are by nature particularly intrusive.
