नोटबंदी के बीच केंद्र सरकार ने अपने एक फैसले के जरिए किसानों को राहत देने की कोशिश की है.. किसानों को नाबार्ड के जरिए अब फंड देने की व्यवस्था की गई है...यानी किसानों को अब जिला सहकारी बैंकों के जरिए पैसा मिलेगा...आर्थिक मामलों के सचिव शक्तिकांत दास ने बुधवार को इस बात की घोषणा करते हुए कहा कि सहकारी बैंकों को 21 हजार करोड़ रुपए जारी होंगे...साथ ही 31 दिसंबर तक डेबिट कार्ड पर सर्विस चार्ज नहीं लगेगा। सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंक और कुछ निजी बैंक 31 दिसंबर तक डेबिट कार्ड के इस्तेमाल पर सर्विस टैक्स हटाने पर राजी हो गए हैं. दास ने बताया कि फीचर फोनों से किए जाने वाले सभी डिजिटल लेन-देन 31 दिसंबर तक सर्विस टैक्स से मुक्त रहेंगे. रुपे कार्ड पर भी चार्ज हटाया जा चुका है. दास ने बताया कि ई वॉलेट से भी सरकार स्विचिंग चार्ज हटा चुकी है...सभी सरकारी संगठनों, सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों और सरकारी एजेंसियों को सलाह दी गई है कि वेतन देने और अन्य खर्चों के लिए डिजिटल भुगतान का इस्तेमाल करें. रिजर्व बैंक ने कैश वॉलेट की लिमिट भी दोगुनी कर अब 20 हजार रुपये कर दी है. साथ ही 31 दिसंबर तक ऑनलाइन ट्रेन टिकट बुकिंग पर भी सर्विस चार्ज हटाया जा चुका है. वहीं एक और राहत की खबर ये है कि कल से आप बिग बाज़ार स्टोर से भी कैश निकाल सकेंगे... बिग बाजार ने घोषणा की है कि उसके स्टोरों पर ग्राहक अपने डेबिट कार्ड का इस्तेमाल करते हुए 2000 रुपए तक का कैश निकाल सकेंगे. देशभर के 260 स्टोर्स पर ये सुविधा उपलब्ध होगी...अभी बैंक और एटीएम के अलावा कुछ पेट्रोल पंप से ही पैसे निकाले जा सकते हैं

Prime Minister Office (PMO) and finance ministry’s top bureaucrats on Thursday held discussions over the suggestions and submissions by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) regarding the surcharge issue, sources told ET NOW on Friday. The sources said that the PMO took stock of tax surcharge and its impact of the stock market and FPIs. FPIs have sought roll back of surcharge, as a confidence boosting signal from the Modi government. According to ET NOW, FPIs through law firms have conveyed to the finance ministry that it is impractical to convert trusts into companies. Sources say that PMO may tweak if not rollback surcharge.

Equity benchmark indices staged a smart recovery during second half of trading on Thursday with the Nifty closing above 11,000 mark. The market rallied after reports suggested that the government is likely to roll back the recently-imposed higher tax on foreign portfolio investors (FPIs). The introduction of a surcharge on higher income brackets announced in the Budget by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has led to a brisk selloff by FPIs. At the closing bell, the BSE S&P Sensex was up 637 points or 1.74 per cent at 37,327 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 177 points or 1.63 per cent to 11,032.

The government is likely to announce a slew of market-friendly changes including withdrawing of surcharge on income of foreign portfolio investors (FPIs), removing of long-term capital gains (LTCG) tax after a holding period of three years and easing of dividend distribution (DDT) tax, ET NOW reported on Thursday, quoting government sources. The report pushed the BSE Sensex 634 points higher and helped the NSE Nifty top 11,000-mark at the close. “The government may withdraw higher surcharge for FPIs via notification or ordinance,” the report added.
