കേരളത്തിന്റെ ടൂറിസ്റ്റ് ഹബ്ബാണ് കൊച്ചി . 35000ല്‍ ഏറെ സ‌ഞ്ചാരികളും 26 ആഡംബര കപ്പലുകളും ആണ് ഈ സീസണില്‍ കൊച്ചി തുറമുഖത്തേക്ക് ഒഴുകിയെത്തിയത് . പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം ഒക്ടോബര്‍ മാസത്തിലാണ് കൊച്ചിയില്‍ ടൂറിസ്റ്റ് സീസണ്‍ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത് അടുത്ത വര്ഷം ഏപ്രില്‍ വരെ നീണ്ടുനില്‍ക്കുന്ന ഒന്നാണ് . പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം ഏകദേശം 50000 പേരാണ് ഈ സമയത്ത് കൊച്ചിയിലേക്ക് വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരത്തിനായി എത്താറുള്ളത് . എന്നാല്‍ സീസണ്‍ തുടങ്ങി ചുരുങ്ങിയ കാലംകൊണ്ട് ഇത്രയധികം പേര്‍ കൊച്ചിയിലേക്ക് എത്തിയത് ഏറെ പ്രതീക്ഷ നല്‍കുന്ന ഒന്നാണ് . രണ്ട് മാസത്തിനുള്ളിലാണ് ഇരട്ടിയോളം പേര്‍ ആണ് അറബിക്കടലിന്റെ റാണിയെക്കാണാന്‍ എത്തിയത് .ക്രൂയിസ് ടൂറിസം പ്രാദേശികവിപണിയ്ക്ക് വലിയ കുതിപ്പാണ് നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നത് . പ്രതിദിനം ശരാശരി 25000 രൂപ ഒരു വിനോദസഞ്ചാരി മധ്യകേരളത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില്‍ ചിലവഴിക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നാണ് കണക്കുകള്‍ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് . 75 കോടി രൂപയുടെ വിദേശകറന്‍സി ഈ രീതിയില്‍ ടൂറിസം മേഖലക്ക് ലഭിക്കുന്നു . ഈ രീതിയില്‍ സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ ഒഴുക്ക് തുടര്‍ന്നാല്‍ ഈ വര്ഷം കേരളത്തിലേക്ക് എത്തിയവരുടെ എണ്ണം 80000 കടക്കുമെന്നാണ് റിപോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് . ഇത് മുന്നില്‍കണ്ടുകൊണ്ട് പോര്‍ട്ട് ട്രസ്റ്റ് ക്രൂയിസ് ടൂറിസം പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള വിവിധ പദ്ധതികള്‍ ആവിഷ്കരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട് .ചെറുകിട വ്യാപാരികള്‍ക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ സ്റ്റാളുകള്‍ അനുവദിക്കുക , മൂന്നാര്‍, തേക്കടി, ജഡായുപാറ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഹെലികോപ്റ്റര്‍ സ‍ര്‍വീസ് ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തുക എന്നിവ അവയില്‍ ചില നിര്‍ദേശങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമാണ് . വരുന്ന ഡിസംബറില്‍ പുതിയ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ടെര്‍മിനല്‍ കൊച്ചിയില്‍ ഒരുങ്ങുന്നതോടെ ഈ കുതിപ്പ് തുടാനാകുമെന്നാണ് ഏവരുടെയും പ്രതീക്ഷ .കേരളത്തിന്റെ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര മേഖലയില്‍ കുതിച്ചുചാട്ടത്തിന് വഴിയൊരുക്കിയ പദ്ധതിയാണ് ക്രൂയിസ് ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതി.
