Attacking the current Chief Minister, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the poor economic growth and underdevelopment in the state.
'Your CM has made promises which he has not been able to deliver. He has taken the Naga economy into reverse gear, with growth declining sharply from 8.3 % to just 3.8%. Part of the reason is that there are more than 50,000 unemployed youngsters in Nagaland, but the state government is not training them. The Centre has sent funds in the past and also set up higher education institutes in the state, but that is not enough if there is no work being done at state level,' he said Rahul Gandhi also listed some of the steps that will help the state progress faster. These include strengthened infrastructure in the state for better connectivity with the rest of the nation, a dedicated women force to provide employment opportunities, and the 'Look East' policy that will link Nagaland to the neighbouring countries.
