The network has announced that Zendaya has been cast to play Aaliyah in a new made for TV movie about the late R&B superstar who tragically died at just 22 years old in a plane crash in 2001. Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will tell the story of the 'One In A Million' singer's life and death. Zendaya is also set to record four of Aaliyah's hits for the film! It's no secret Aaliyah is one of Zendaya's biggest inspirations--just last year she dressed as the late singer on the red carpet for Keep a Child Alive's 20th Annual Dream Halloween Event!
