अफज़लगढ़ क्षेत्र के गांव आलमपुर गांवड़ी में सत्ता पक्ष के संरक्षण में भूमाफियाओं ने ग्रामीण की जमीन पर अवैध रूप से कब्ज़ा कर लिया। विरोध करने पर पीड़ित को घंटों तक थाना कोतवाली में बैठाए रखा और महिलाओं तथा बच्चों को ताला लगाकर घर में बंद कर दिया। इस घटना के बाद प्रशासन ने जब पीड़ित की नही सुनी तो पीड़ितों ने पूर्व विधायक डाॅक्टर इंन्द्रदेव सिंह से सम्पर्क कर उनकी जमीन वापस दिलाने की गुहार लगाई है। जिसपर पूर्व विधायक डाॅ0 इंन्द्रदेव सिंह ने भी पीड़ितों को हर संभव मदद का भरोसा दिलाया है।
पीड़ित व्यक्ति गोपाल सिंह सैनी का कहना है कि उसकी गांव में आबादी की करीब 4 बीघा भूमि है जो उन्होंने वर्ष 1988 में बैनामा कराकर खरीदी थी तभी से उनके परिवार के लोग इस भूमि पर आवास बनाकर रह रहे हैं। गोपाल सिंह सैनी का कहना है कि घर के बाहर खाली पड़ी भूमि पर पिछले काफी समय से दबंगों की नजर गड़ी हुई थी और इस भूमि का विवाद नगीना कोर्ट में भी विचाराधीन है और कोर्ट ने यथास्थिति रखने का स्टे भी दे रखा है। आरोप है कि इसके बावजूद सत्ता संरक्षण मिलने पर क्षेत्रीय विधायक के रिश्तेदारों ने प्रशासन से हमसाज होकर दर्जनों पुलिसकर्मियों और राजस्व विभाग की टीम के साथ पीड़ितों की बैनामा शुदा भूमि पर आकर जेसीबी लगाकर अवैध कब्ज़ा कर लिया। गोपाल सिंह और उसके भाई ने जब इसका विरोध किया तो आरोप है कि अफज़लगढ़ पुलिस ने कागज़ात देखने के नाम पर पीड़ितों को घंटों तक थाने में बैठाए रखा तथा उनके घर की महिलाओं और बच्चों को बाहर से ताला लगाकर घर के अंदर बंद कर दिया।
अपनी समस्या लेकर पहुंचे पीड़ितों की पूरी बात सुनते हुए पूर्व विधायक डाॅक्टर इंद्रदेव सिंह ने कहा कि वह पीड़ित परिवार के साथ तन, मन, धन से खड़े हैं। पीड़ित को उसकी भूमि कब्जा मुक्त कराने के लिए वह हर स्तर पर जाकर कार्यवाही करेंगे। पूर्व विधायक ने कहा कि सत्ता संरक्षण में इस तरह का काम सरकार को बदनाम करने के उद्देश्य से किया गया है। उन्हेांने इस मामले में कार्यवाही का भरोसा दिलाया।
