New Year's Eve 2013: Google bids goodbye with an animated doodle

Keeping up with its tradition of coming out with doodles to mark important days, Google, on Tuesday, displayed an animated New Year's Eve 2013 doodle on its homepage to bid adieu to the year. It is the last Google doodle for the year 2013.

Today's attractive doodle features the numbers 2,0,1 and 3 partying on a multi-coloured dance floor. The number 4 is also depicted in the doodle, which is interpreted as waiting along the sides to replace 3. In the background, two speakers are seen playing music uniformly.

Additionally, the Google logo is presented in a colourful way with a disco ball that represents the letter 'O'. And if you move the cursor on the doodle then a message 'Happy New Year!' will appear.

Just below the search bar, the search engine displays a caption that reads 'What did the world search for this year? Remember the moments of 2013'. And on clicking the given link, users are redirected to the Google Zeitgeist 2013 page that highlights some of the major and significant events of the year in a 1.31-minute video.

New Year's Eve 2013 marked by an animated Google doodle

New Year's Eve 2013 has inspired the last doodle of the year. Upon hovering the mouse over this animated doodle, the text Happy New Year! is displayed.

Tuesday's doodle features numbers 2, 0, 1, and 3 on the dance floor with the number 4 waiting along the sides, waiting for its turn to replace 3. The dance floor is made up of little squares that are changing colours, designed to represent the floor lights in various colours. The word Google is seen sandwiched between two speakers, with the second O replaced by a disco ball.

Also present on the Google home page is the text 'What did the world search for this year? Remember the moments of 2013', with a link to the Google Zeitgeist 2013. This has of course been seen for a while, and is not a new addition.

Though the latest Google doodle looks interactive, we tried various browsers and we couldn't get the doodle to do anything except show Google search results for New Year's Eve 2013. The first result is a Google search card that says, 'Tuesday, December 31 New Year's Eve 2013', similar to what you get while searching for other important days like Diwali 2013 on Google India, or Memorial Day 2013 on the Google US homepage.

The rest of the page looks like any other Google results page, with news, image and search results for the query New Year's Eve 2013. Many search results refer to fireworks planned on New Year's Ev

New Year's Eve 2013: Google posts an animated doodle

On New Year's Eve 2013 bidding goodbye to the year, Google has posted an animated doodle on its home page.
The animated doodle shows a party on with speakers blaring and the digits 2-0-1-3 grooving on the dance floor and while the digit 4, signifying the New Year is waiting in the wings.

This doodle is in tune with Google's tradition of posting doodles on New Year's Eve, followed by another on New Year's Day.

Last year, taking into account the sensitivity and anger of Indian citizens following the brutal Delhi gangrape case, Google did not post the New Year's eve doodle on the India homepage. Google had instead, in the memory of the Delhi braveheart, placed a subtle vigil candle below its search box on the Google India homepage.
But in other countries of the world, on December 31, 2012 Google posted a doodle that was an assortment of 35 doodles that appeared during the year 2012.

Google Celebrates New Year Eve with an Animated Doodle

2016 was a year of ups and downs and like with every New Year's Eve, comes a special Google Doodle. One thing's for sure, this New Year's Eve doodle will clearly keep you waiting.

Heading over to the Google Search page shows five colourful and animated birds sitting on a branch waiting for an egg to hatch. Upon closer inspection it is obvious that they are all decked up to bring in the New Year when the egg with a 2016 sash cracks open.

But sadly that time is yet to come and while the birds grow anxious (and it is the same with us) Google keeps us busy by leading us to a Google Trends page from the link below the doodle.

Hitting the link takes us to the Google Trends page with plenty of things to keep you busy till the New Year arrives. And pretty much everything that you and your friends (and their friends) searched for is in there. From India's saddest moments to the Paris attacks to recently released Star Wars flick and the discovery of water on Mars and everything in between. Surely makes a great way to stay distracted as the New Year is just a couple of hours away.
