Pop superstar Beyoncé Knowles and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z welcomed their new baby girl into the world, and mother and daughter are doing just fine.
Blue Ivy Carter was born on Saturday at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where the couple reportedly rented the entire fourth floor for $1.3 million.
TMZ notes that the birth caused a bit of a stir for a Boston-area event-planning company also named Blue Ivy, which was flooded with phone calls, texts, and Facebook messages. Will there be a name ownership dispute? Quick, somebody call the artist currently known as Prince.

When speaking about her daughter Beyonce told Star Magazine: 'Nothing can describe the feeling. You have the instant connection once you know your child is growing inside you. But when you hold it for the first time, the words can't be found.'
Aww isn't that cute? She's such a mom now! And Beyonce managed to answer the million dollar question. Will Hova be on diaper duty??? 'Of course he will,' Beyonce said. 'He is going to be a very hands-on father. He has already said publicly that providing isn't love. Love is being there. Love is doing the little things for your child.'
