India lost the first Test by 40 runs to New Zealand, in yet another interesting day of Test cricket. Though, Shikhar Dhawan scored a ton on the fourth Day, it went in vain as the India didn't stop the hosts from taking a lead of 1-0 in the two match series. N Wagner was certainly the pick among the bowlers as he scalped four wickets in the second innings. Team India were bowled out for 366 runs and fell short by 40 runs against New Zealand. What a Test match this has been, an absolute cracker at Auckland. The Kiwis finished on top once again at the helm of their effective seam bowlers. Neil Wagner was definitely the gamechanger for the hosts with four crucial blows in the second innings. Team India were on their way towards a much-needed away win today after Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli added 126 runs for the third wicket. However, Wagner scalped Kohli to shake the natural order of the day. Dhawan too followed Kohli soon after his hundred leaving India with a healthy target to chase. Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane tried to steady the innings but it cut short by yet another umpiring howle.
