The tornado hurtled toward the nursing home. Physical therapist Patti Gilroy said she saw the swirling mass barreling down through the back door, after herding patients into the hallway in the order trained: walkers, wheelchairs, then beds.
'It wasn't like a freight train like everybody says it is,' said Gilroy, who rounded up dozens to safety at Green Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 'It sounded like a bomb hit. And we hit the floor, and everybody was praying. It was shocking.'

The Red Cross put a preliminary estimate of damaged homes at 650. In the southern Dallas suburb of Lancaster, where damage was especially widespread, around 150 people remained in a shelter Tuesday night.

A number of country artists took the stage tonight for the Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert to help raise profits for the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund, and the event, hosted by Blake Shelton, was already a heartfelt gesture.
But once his wife Miranda Lambert started to perform, the tears started to roll.
It was hard to watch Lambert's performance of 'The House That Built Me' without get choked up, because she herself struggled to finish the song.
At one point, the camera did a close-up of the country crooner, who was welling up with tears and had to stop singing for a few moments to regain her composure.
Miranda mouthed, 'Sorry' to the crowd, who continued to cheer her on. Lambert's raw and sensitive delivery definitely did not need an apology, and touched many of those who witnessed it—including fellow singers.

Ian Kinsler was on the way to Rangers Ballpark with teammate Michael Young when they saw the warnings on highway signs to take shelter immediately.
With heavy storms moving through the region and producing multiple tornadoes Tuesday afternoon, the Texas Rangers stars heeded the warning.
'We were on the way here, and we turned back around and went back home,' Kinsler said when he finally arrived at the ballpark.
Workers at Rangers Ballpark took shelter in hallways during a pair of tornado warnings when the strong storm front passed through the area hours before the two-time defending American League champions played the Mexico City Red Devils.
Team spokesman John Blake said there was no structural damage at the stadium.
Rangers catcher Mike Napoli posted a video taken from the dugout by catcher Zach Zaneski, a non-roster invitee still with the team for the exhibition game.
'While they were out there, I was inside being safe,' Napoli said. 'I'm not going outside in a tornado.'
Zaneski said he and several other players who had arrived at the stadium early went to the dugout when they heard what was happening. He immediately pulled out his phone and started shooting some video.
The video showed dark clouds rolling through the sky above the stadium. Gusty and swirling winds lifted up the tarp that was covering the field.
