Giuliana Rancic to Have Double Mastectomy Surgery

E! host and personality Giuliana Rancic is currently battling breast cancer and after several lumpectomy surgeries failed to eradicate the cancer, she has announced that she will go with the more drastic option to have a double mastectomy.
Giuliana and her husband Bill appeared on NBC's Today show to announce that Giuliana has chosen the more dramatic option to ensure that the cancer is gone and according to her doctors, this surgery will give the cancer only a 1% chance to return.
'At the end, to be honest, all it came down to was just choosing to live, and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life,' says Rancic.
Giuliana discovered she had breast cancer while undergoing routine IVF treatment and the couple's desire to have children weighed heavily on her decision to not get another lumpectomy which would mean years of medication that would put off getting pregnant for several more years.

After years of trying unsuccessfully, Giuliana and Bill are expecting their first child. The couple had two embryos banked before Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer, and one embroyo resulted in a pregnancy via a gestational surrogate. Bill explained the dire circumstances on TODAY, saying, This was it, with the medicine Giuliana was on, this was our last effort. Giuliana added, It was pretty much one of the best moments of my life, if not the best moment.
