Indian Man Held For Carrying Banned Tablets of His Relative Sentenced 32 Years Jail - DT News

Innocent Habeeb Mohammed of Hyderabad sentenced to Seven years imprisonment and asked to pay fifty thousand Dirham’s with a life ban on his entry in UAE by Dubai High Court :
Habeeb Mohammed a resident of Narqi Phool Bagh, Chandrayangutta who went to Dubai on 27th Oct 2016 to join a job in Al Towar General Land Transport. While he was about to leave one of his known neighbour Habeeb Aidroos Al Aidroos handed over LYRICA (150 mg) Tablets to be handed over to Habeeb Aidroos Shoeb in Dubai.
As soon as he landed in Dubai Airport through EK-527 he was asked to show the contents of his baggage and was arrested for carrying the said medicine claiming that it is banned in Dubai. He called Habeeb Aidroos Shoeb and informed him that he has been arrested by Dubai police and asked him to come and meet him but instead of coming to Airport Habeeb Aidroos Shoeb returned back to Hyderabad by first available flight. He was booked in Case No: 82896/2016 Govt of Dubai (Public Prosecution) and in the month of Nov-Dec 2016 he was sentenced to One year imprisonment and was asked to pay twenty thousand Dirham’s and a life ban on his entry to UAE..
