ജൂണില്‍ തുടങ്ങുന്ന ഈ അധ്യയനവര്‍ഷം മുതല്‍ നിയമം നടപ്പാക്കും
കേരളത്തിലെ എല്ലാ സ്‌കൂളുകളിലും ഒന്നു മുതല്‍ 10 വരെയുള്ള ക്ലാസുകളില്‍ മലയാളം പഠിപ്പിക്കണമെന്നത് നിര്‍ബന്ധമാക്കുന്ന നിയമ ചട്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ രൂപം നല്‍കി.2017 ജൂണ്‍ ഒന്നിന് മലയാളഭാഷാ നിയമം ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ അംഗീകരിച്ച് നിലവില്‍ വന്നെങ്കിലും ചട്ടങ്ങളാകാത്തതിനാല്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ അധ്യയന വര്‍ഷം ഇത് നടപ്പായിരുന്നില്ല.സി.ബി.എസ്.ഇ, ഐ.സി.എസ്.ഇ. തുടങ്ങിയ കേന്ദ്ര സിലബസ് സ്‌കൂളുകള്‍, ഭാഷാ ന്യൂനപക്ഷ സ്‌കൂളുകള്‍, ഓറിയന്റല്‍ സ്‌കൂളുകള്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലടക്കം പത്താം ക്ലാസ് വരെ മലയാളം ഒരു ഭാഷയായി പഠിപ്പിക്കണം. പൊതുവിദ്യാഭ്യാസ ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ഇത് ഉറപ്പാക്കണമെന്നും നിയമം പറയുന്നു.മലയാളം പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോയെന്ന് എല്ലാ വര്‍ഷാരംഭവും പരിശോധനയുണ്ടാകും.ഭാഷാ ന്യൂനപക്ഷ സ്‌കൂളുകളിലും ഓറിയന്‍ല്‍ സ്‌കൂളുകളിലും നിലവിലെ പാഠ്യപദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം മലയാള ഭാഷാപഠനം നിര്‍ബന്ധമല്ല. ഇത്തരം സ്‌കൂളുകള്‍ക്ക് എസ്.സി.ഇ.ആര്‍.ടി. പ്രത്യേക പാഠപുസ്തകം നല്‍കും..
