Standing on the medal podium at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games will be an incredible moment experienced by only a select few athletes and this moment will be soundtracked by a specially created piece of music.

This rousing anthem will be played during the Commonwealth Games medal ceremonies and will strike a chord with spectators and athletes alike.

The ceremony theme has been titled 'Gaisgeachd' which is Gaelic for courage, championship and heroism.

Composed by Greg Bowman of Great Big Events, the score is performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and piper Major Steven Small, under the baton of Scottish conductor Garry Walker.
