We wouldn't say she bombed last by any means, but we expected better. Maybe all the hype and expectations were just too much, or the show itself just isn't that good.
In any case, it left something to be desired from start to finish.
Several late changes - such as ditching a singing monologue in favor of one with cameos from Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm (above) - may not have helped matters.
Some critics and fans are calling it an epic fail (EW asks in its headline if she was the worst host all season), but people are also predisposed to hate on Lohan.
Linds did look a bit tired, worn out and nervous, but that's to be expected, and she can't take all the blame for mediocre skits..

Lindsay Lohan is hosting 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend, and she is hyping it up with a lot of comeback appearances! Including one on Jimmy Fallon last night.
Lindsay was actually quite charming during her visit on Jimmy Fallon's show. Jimmy is a Saturday Night Live alum himself, so naturally, the topic came up.
Lindsay puts Fallon on the spot, asking: 'Will you stop by the show?'
Fallon's obviously not sure if she meant to watch or as a cameo, but he replies 'Sure....' He asks: 'You want me to come on your show? I'll do anything for you, if you want me to do it. But what am I going to do?'
Lindsay jokes: 'I don't know, just stop by and I'm sure you guys will figure it out!' Of course now rumors are swirling that they are planning a skit together.
Lindsay also takes her appearance of Jimmy Fallon last night as an opportunity to clear up how she actually got the hosting gig. She admits that she kept calling Lorne Michaels, and kept asking him. But she insists she was not harassing him, but simply just 'not giving up.' Okay, so Lindsay has a different definition of begging than the rest of us!

Well, it looks like that desperate avenue of getting on the show actually worked for her! She will host SNL on March 3rd.

Lindsay has hosted SNL back in 2004, 2005, and 2006, and now that her community service is almost up, she called up Lorne to properly beg to get back on the popular show.

Billed as a no-hold-barred interview, Lindsay Lohan visited on Thursday (March 1), and told Matt Lauer she is clean, sober and ready to get back to work.
The actress, who is hosting 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend for the first time since 2006, revealed that her most recent round of legal troubles — which began in January 2011 when she violated her probation (related to a 2007 DUI) by wearing a $2,500 necklace out of a Venice, California, boutique (she returned the necklace, claiming it was an accident) — brought her to a breaking point. 'This last whirlwind of experiences I've gone through this last year and a half, I've kind of just taken a step back and been like, 'I'm not doing what I love to do and I need to find a way to kind of find that balance again,' ' she said.
