New York's 72nd precinct is in the news again for all the wrong reasons after one of its officers shoved a pregnant woman to the ground in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn.

According to her lawyer, Sandra Amezquita, 43, who is five months pregnant, was asking police to “stop using excessive force” against her son when an officer threw her to the ground at around 2:15 a.m.

The altercation was caught on camera and uploaded to Facebook by local police watch group El Grito de Sunset Park.

Police said they were arresting Amezquita’s 17-year-old son, John Lemos, for possessing a knife. Lemos says police planted the knife on him.

“According to this young man, the cops, when they put the razor blade in his pocket, they told him, ‘We’re going to make sure this time, it sticks,’” Dennis Flores of El Grito de Sunset Park told CBS New York. “So the mom saw this, started yelling out, and the cops grabbed her and slammed her against the floor like we see in the video. And they put a Taser to her stomach.”.
