Interestingly enough, these are rare Schindler escalators that have metal balustrades.
What do you expect from Schindler? I'm not bashing them in any way, but you're expectations should not be high. Taking after Westinghouse, Schindler's low-rise goal is to provide a cheap hydraulic elevator with moderate quality, which is basically the 300A, 321A and 330A. Overall, they are more reliable and of a higher-quality than Westinghouse, but it is also true that they are all flawed in their own way, give the impressions of being junky, and definitely can't compare to older Dovers or older OTIS, but they are still elevators and they still get the job done. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING is worse than neglect of your elevator, and that's clearly reflected with this elevator. This thing is getting lower and lower on oil, had its indicator literally shredded apart and is deteriorating much more rapidly than it should be. As a low-quality elevator, this can be anticipated, but to a certain extent. Kohl's and KONE need to step up their game before this elevator snaps and falls apart. KONE's idea of 'maintenance' is replacing an ECI door clutch with a KONE door clutch, only making the door's situation WORSE. Not to mention no effort has been made to restore the fixtures or replace the old, bad oil.
