It's a frequent flier's worst nightmare - a screaming child. But for passengers aboard JetBlue Flight 850, a toddler's tantrum came to an abrupt end when the pilot booted two-year-old Natalie and her family. Philadelphia's WCAU explains.

'Dr. Colette Vieau and her husband were trying to fly back to Boston from the Turks and Caicos back on February 18th. When Natalie refused to sit down, her parents finally got her seat belt fastened and held her in place.'

But the parents' efforts weren't enough for the flight crew, who asked the family to get off the plane prior to take off. USA Today has the company's statement.

'Flight 850 ... had customers that did not comply with crewmember instructions for a prolonged time period. The captain elected to remove the customers involved for the safety of all customers and crewmembers on board.'

According to New York Daily News, Natalie's tantrum was more than an inconvenience for her parents.

'The family ended up having to stay overnight in a hotel and rebook their flights, which ended up adding an additional $2,000 to their trip.'

ABC reports - this isn't a first for airlines.

'Kate Penland claimed she was taken off an Express Jet flight in 1997 after refusing to give her child Benadryl to quiet him down.... [and] Pamela Root and her toddler son were kicked .
