Tt seemed that the entire nation was stunned when Strictly favourite Pixie Lott became the tenth contestant to be voted off the show last night.

Viewers branded the judges' decision a 'disgrace' and some even vowed to boycott the remainder of the series after Pixie and partner Trent Whiddon lost out in the dance-off - despite topping the leader board four times in 11 weeks.

A clearly shellshocked Pixie said: 'It is a shame, I was really looking forward to learning more dances.'

The singer also took to twitter after the results show, saying:

But while she had been the clear favourite to win after an almost faultless run of performances every week, the theories about why she fell at the quarter-final hurdle are flowing thick and fast.

Although Len Goodman perhaps played a small part in Pixie's downfall by highlighting her and Trent's 'illegal' lifts and her 'inconsistent' leg movements, it seems that the real reason for her shock exit was simply that she was TOO good.

The fact she formerly trained at the Italia Conti dance school seems to have come back to haunt her - just like in previous years when Denise Van Outen and Lisa Snowdon unexpectedly got the chop. And last year, trained dancer Natalie Gumede missed out on the big prize despite having the best overall scores.

Quite simply, viewers don't like it when star.
