- Greg Ham, 58, was 'Men At Work's' flautist, saxophonist and keyboard player.
His body was found in a house in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton North when friends went to check on him late this morning.
About a dozen officers including forensic specialists were called to the Canning Street address early this afternoon.
Detective Senior Sergeant Shane O'Connell says the cause of death is still to be determined.
'There are a number of unexplained aspects to it which has caused our attendance here today, and we're assisting the local detectives to determine what has occurred,' he told reporters.

Greg Norman Ham (27 September 1953 -- 19 April 2012) was an Australian songwriter, actor and saxophone player known for playing multiple instruments in the 1980s band Men at Work. In addition to the saxophone, he played flute, organ, piano and the synthesiser. He replaced Greg Sneddon in the band.
As an actor, Ham was a regular cast member on While You're Down There.
Later in life, Ham taught guitar at Carlton North Primary School in Melbourne.
Ham attended Camberwell Grammar School, Melbourne, from 1964-71. He was remember for his acting talent in school plays, particularly 'The World We Live In' (the insect comedy) in 1969 were he played the 'parasite'. In 1970 Ham played Mr Seekamp, Editor of the Ballaarat Times, in 'Lola Montez' and in 1971, Puff, in 'The Critic'. In 1967 Ham was photographed airborne in a still photo by J. Jones that won 1st prize in the Ilford Competition. He complete HSC in both 1970 and 1971 with high marks in Chinese (B) (1970), Physics (B) (1970) and Biology (A) (1971). He was a Senior Prefect in 1971.
