Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky was an influential Russian painter and art theorist. He is credited with painting the first purely abstract works. Born in Moscow, Kandinsky spent his childhood in Odessa.

Watch Renowned Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky, the man whose 148th birthday Google is celebrating in its latest Doodle, only started painting when he was 30.
Born in Moscow in 1866, Kandinsky grew up in Odessa and then studied Law and Economics before being offered a professorship at the University of Dorpat, Estonia. He left this position in 1896 and relocated to Munich seeking admission into the city's Academy of Fine Arts. After initially being shunned, he entered the academy a few years later, where he flourished as a painter and an art theorist.
Kandinsky, who was inspired to take up painting by French impressionist painter Claude Monet's iconic Haystacks and composer Richard Wagner's opera Lohengrin, is known as the first truly abstract artist and often likened painting to music. “Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand which plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul,†he wrote in his iconic text Concerning the Spiritual In Art.
Kandinsky moved back to his native Russia following the outbreak of World War I in 1914, but returned to Germany in 1921 after being dissatisfied with the official theories of art under the communist regime. In 1933 he emigrated to France, where he lived out the rest of his days until his death in 1944.

She was born in a small town called Bhambla in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Her family lives in Mandi. She trained under eminent theatre director Arvind Gaur. She participated in his theatre workshop at India Habitat Centre and acted in several plays. Her first play with Arvind Gaur was Girish Karnad's Taledanda(Rakt-Kalyan). Ranaut joined Asha Chandra's course in 2004 to brush herself to face the camera. In 2012, Ranaut once again appeared alongside Ajay Devgan in Tezz, which was a major failure at the box office. As of May 2012, Ranaut is set to appear in I Love NY opposite Sunny Deol, Shootout At Wadala alongside John Abraham and Anil Kapoor, Krrish 3 with Hrithik Rosh

Rakhi Sawant was born on 25th November 1978. She is an Indian dancer, Hindi film and television actress, model and television talk show host. Rakhi was born as Neeru Bheda to Jaya Bheda. Jaya married Sawant, a police constable at Worli Police Station, and gave her children her second husband's name Sawant. Rakhi attended Goklibai High School in the Vile Parle suburb of Mumbai and later studied at Mithibai College. She is the sister of film director Rakesh Sawant and former actress Usha Sawant.
In 1997, Rakhi debuted with the unnoticed film Agnnichakra as Ruhi Sawant. She continued acting in some more low-budget Bollywood films. In 2003, she auditioned for an item number in the Bollywood movie, Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. She auditioned about four times before being finally selected for her breakthrough item number, 'Mohabbat Hai Mirchi', composed by Himesh Reshammiya. She also bagged a small role in the film for which she gained visibility. After that, Sawant acted in small roles in some more films including Masti & Main Hoon Na.
In 2005, she appeared in the music video 'Pardesia' of music album D.J. Hot Remix-Vol.3 & gained popularity for her dancing abilities. After this, she featured in music videos of many other music albums & Bollywood item numbers.
In June 2006, Mika Singh attempted to kiss her at his birthday party, which converted into a major media controversy. A few months later, she appeared in the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss and was among the top four finalists.
