8થી 10 વર્ષ પહેલા ચકલીઓની જે સંખ્યા હતી તે સરખામણીએ અત્યારના સમયમાં ચકલીઓ ની સંખ્યા ખૂબ ઓછી છે. ચકલીની લુપ્ત થતી જાતિને બચાવવા માટે સુરતના યોગીચોક વિસ્તારમાં સામાજિક કાર્ય કરતી સંસ્થા નેશનલ યુવા સંગઠન અને મોટા વરાછામાં સેવાકીય કાર્ય કરતું ગ્રૂપ હંસઆર્ટ દ્વારા લોકોને ફ્રીમાં ચકલીઓના માળા વિતરણ કરવામાં આવે છે. નેશનલ યુવા સંગઠન દ્વારા હાલ 6,000 કરતા પણ વધારે ચકલીના માળા લોકોને ફ્રીમાં વિતરણ કરવામાં આવ્યા છે અને હંસઆર્ટ ગ્રૂપ દ્વારા 1,000 કરતા પણ વધારે ચકલીના માળા લોકોને ફ્રીમાં વિતરણ કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. આ બંને સસ્થાઓ દ્વાર જે લોકોને ચકલીનો માળા આપવામાં આવે છે તે લોકો પાસેથી માળા લગાવ્યાની ખાતરી કરતા ફોટો અને વીડિયો મંગાવવામાં આવે છે. જેથી સંસ્થાના લોકો દ્વારા આપવામાં આવેલા ચકલીના માળાનો ઉપયોગ કેવી રીતે થયો છે તેની માહિતી સંસ્થાને મળી શકે. લોકો પાસે મંગાવેલા ફોટો અને વીડિયોમાં માળાઓમાં ચકલીઓ રહેવા આવી હોઈ તેવા દ્રશ્યો દેખાતા સંસ્થાના લોકો દ્વારા ચલાવવામાં ચકલી બચાવો અભિયાન સફળ થતું જોઈને સંસ્થાના સભ્યોમાં એક ખુશીની લહેર ફેલાય જાય છે.
