Residents of Porvorim & surrounding areas can breath a sigh of relief as finally the pumping of water from the Tillari dam in Maharashtra to Goa finally beigns. Though maintenance work on the Tillari canal was completed on December 22, a technical fault at the main gate of the dam on the Maharashtra side has delayed the release of water to the Goa side. Areas of Porvorim and Saligao constituencies have been badly affected by water shortage since November 27 as maintenance work of the Tillari canal was taken up. The supply of water from Tillari through the two canals was stopped. Porvorim and Saligao, may receive supply by Friday or Saturday, informed sources
