Calangute MLA Michael Lobo while speaking about water shortage in Bardez areas, has blamed the increasing number of Villas & hotels for water crisis. Lobo said that the water treatment plant at Saligao is almost complete which will solve the issue of water shortage in Calangute. Michael said that a large number of villas & restaurants are coming in Assagao and Badem so naturally locals will not get any water. Assagao communidade has given a land for setting up a water treatment plant, he added. Lobo also said that Five star hotels should compoulsarily have a water harvesting system in the properties.
