Vishwajit Rane inaugurates Siolim PHC. 'Satellite OPD to start at Siolim health centre

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday said the Siolim Primary Health Centre would be upgraded to a Community Health Centre with satellite OPDs and a casualty to be set up. Rane was speaking after inaugurating the extension building of the Siolim PHC in Marna, in the presence of Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, former minister Dayanand Mandrekar, Director of Health Services Dr Geeta Kakodkar, Health Officer Dr Sadhana Shetye, Sarpanch Abhay Shirodkar, Panchs and Zilla Panchayat members. “The state still needs more ambulances and they will be made available by the government. Besides, a new advisory council will be formed in the upcoming assembly session,” said Rane. In her address, MLA Delilah Lobo said the present health centre is currently insufficient and requested the health minister to upgrade the health centre so that the people could avail of better services.
