Parent of of Specially abled students of Sanjay School Vocation Training & rehabilitation centre held a protest in Panaji on Saturday along with Disability Rights Association of Goa president Avelino Dsa restarting of the vocational centre of the school. The centre was closed three months ago because parents were being shuffled from department to department to secure space for the centre. Currently, 110 students with various severe disabilities studying at the vocational centre are at home. These students have been facing various behavioral issues for the last three months as their daily routine has been disrupted. The centre was closed after they were asked to shift from the unsafe building, which led to the death of a special adult. DRAG had urged Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to intervene in the matter and ensure the centre is reopened no later than January 1, 2024, after the member secretary expressed her helplessness to restart the centre in the absence of premises.
